OIR resizer.aspx 4 Kim Kardashian Calls It Quits, But We Can Still Love Her Top Knot!

As most of you have more than likely already heard, Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries are calling it quits. I have to say, I’m not surprised.. or at least from all we saw on Keeping Up With The Kardashians. He always seemed to overstep his boundaries, and I don’t think him and Kim were really on the same page. Anyways, I still love Kimmy! She has a look that most would kill for.. and she forever is flaunting timeless beauty and fashion trends. I could probably go on and on about her, but this time I am going to keep it down to her infamous top knot. Kim sports this ‘do’ quite frequently and I am really loving it! Here are a few tips on creating the perfect Fall top knot!

First of all, I will say that I usually like the end result of my bun much better if it’s second day hair. Like I washed it the day before so it’s a little dirty. That doesn’t have to be the case though, and it’s completely optional. So if it is dirty I’ll spray some dry shampoo at the roots to soak up oil and add a little volume. If not, I will put a golf ball size squirt of mousse like the Herbal Essences Tousle Me Softly in my hair to give it some texture. Then blow dry like you normally would.

Pull your hair up into a ponytail. I would recommend flipping your head over and gathering it all at the top of your head. I like my top knot a little lower like Kim’s, but you can choose to make it higher if you want. Now is also the time to decide how messy or neat you want the base to be. If you want a softer look don’t pull the hair so tightly and just run your fingers through it while pulling it back. If you want it to be sleeker like Kims I would probably straighten your hair first.. and then use a boar bristle brush to smooth it down as you gather it into the pony.

Now you want to wrap your hair around the base of the pony tail. Then pin the bun to the base of your head. I would make sure they are crisscrossed in the center. That will keep it super secure. Another option is using Goody’s Simple Styles Spin Pins. These will only work if you have thinner hair that is medium length. They are two twisty pins that save you from using a million bobbies.

Once you are done pinning the hair in place you can pull out any strands around your face to achieve a messier look. If you don’t want to do that then I would spray some hairspray on your fingers and gently run them over your hairline where baby hairs might come loose and frizz. Make sure to thoroughly spray the bun and you are good to go!

I love Kim’s easy top knot. It’s perfect for lazy Fall days. What are your opinions on the Kim/Kris split up? Are you still a Kim fan? What do you think of her top knot?!
